Gender equality is at the heart of our inclusion values so as every year, Bureau Veritas celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 8th.

A meeting bringing together all employees was held at each of our sites, Maputo, Balama Nacala and Tete.

This day was an opportunity to discuss the following topics:

  • Domestic violence
  • Gender equality
  • Challenges for the insertion of the women in the labor market
  • Premature Union

The President of the Association of Victims of Domestic Violence as well as social activists met with our teams in Maputo and explained regarding the kinds of the domestic violence, how to proceed in case of violence; the consequence of the domestic violence within the family, special to the children; also explained about the kinds of laws regarding the Domestic Violence and how women should behave in the home to avoid different types of violence.

A Technician of the Nacala Velha Social Action came to Nacala and delegate from the Organization of Mozambican Women came to Tete.

They explained about the impact of Premature Union on the Mozambican society; and also actions carried out by the Social Action to help feeding mothers of babies / children, elderly people with HIV which many of HIV patients are women.

This meeting was an opportunity to inform and raise the awareness of all employees, men and women alike.
